Back in October, I wrote about a lawsuit filed by the University of Louisville over a book that alleges various improprieties surrounding the men’s basketball team.
Last week, the University banned the team from participating in any post-season tournaments. That’s something of a big deal this season. They’re 21-6, and 4th in the Atlantic Coast Conference and 18th in the latest AP poll. There’s every reason to think they’d have been highly seeded in the NCAA tournament. This move comes in the midst of several investigations, including one by the school using a former NCAA enforcement staffer.
Sports Illustrated caught up with Coach Pitino recently and asked him a few questions about the situation.
I’m not a betting man, but if I were, I wouldn’t take bets on how much longer he’s coaching.
