Growing up with musical parents as I did, it’s probably not surprising that I enjoy musicals. Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein were regular musical fixtures in my home, as were Stephen Sondheim, W. S. Gilbert, Arthur Sullivan, Alan Lerner, and Frederick Loewe.

Johann Carl Müller or John Charles Mueller is my paternal great-grandfather. The fifth of eight children born to Johann Heinrich Müller and Susanna Gertrude Wenzel, I believe he was the first of their children to immigrate to the United States.
