Randy Cassingham of This Is True almost always has some really good insights on big news stories. You may not always agree with him, but he will make you think.
He’s got a post up over at his site, and here’s an example of the kind of discussion you’ll see there:
Laws do not prevent crime. Their purpose is to deal with crime after its been committed. One of the major flaws I see in American society is that there is ALWAYS an excuse for someone’s criminal action. He believes he was entitled to commit the crime, or external circumstances combined so that he “couldn’t help himself.” Stop making excuses. Accountability and responsibility belong to each and every human being, not the “other guy.” Integrity begins with adherence to the small stuff.
And yeah, I’ve got a couple of comments there.
I strongly encourage you to sign up for his weekly humor newsletter. There’s both a free and paid version.
