It’s been a year since the World Vision fiasco, where the hard-core conservatives savaged World Vision for saying that they’d be willing to hire someone who was gay.
Not that they had. But that they’d be willing to.
People ran from WV by the thousands, dropping their sponsorships of children and families across the world. World Vision caved, and reversed their position, but still people who claimed to love and follow God continued in their exodus. Some estimates were that 10,000 sponsorships were lost.
Benjamin Corey over at Formerly Fundie has updated numbers, and it’s not good. It’s more like 19,000.
If you’re one of those who withdrew your sponsorship over World Vision’s actions, did you move your money somewhere else, or just keep it? I’m genuinely curious.
