Some friends of mine in Felton, Delaware suffered a house fire June 26.
Bill Walton and Paula Smith are great folks raising two great daughters. Bill has made a lifetime out of supporting things he believes in, such as Gaming Advocacy through The Escapist, and local theater production. They lost almost everything in the fire: instruments; computers; clothes. Everything that makes a house a home.
If you’ve ever benefited from something they’ve done or if you’re a lover of music or literature or theater, please pop over to his Kickstarter page his blog to see how you can help. Let them know how they’ve touched your life.
Update 28 June – I’ve changed the link to help Bill and Paula out. He has a Kickstarter campaign going to get a kid’s book published, and some were suggesting adding money there, but that money can’t be transferred away from that project. Instead, there’s a link posted to a blog post he’s made listing clothing sizes and addresses.
It’s truly heartbreaking to see what was lost. Hug your family. Hug your pets. Love on a friend somewhere.
This link has a photo of the house.
