I’m not sure whose bright idea it was to be out on the road on the day of my newest book release.
Don’t Stop Believing, my new romantic suspense story, is now available exclusively on Kindle for just $2.99.
At the moment, I’m (ideally) somewhere between Central Ohio and Northeast Oklahoma, happily chewing up the miles in some long-awaited two-wheeled therapy. I’ll be checking things here and there as I can, but without constant updates. Bikes are somewhat more demanding of your attention while in motion.
This is the first story I ever completed, and when I was done, it looked just like the first story I ever completed! It definitely needed to marinate for a while – several years, in fact. Then again, it took me over six years to finish the first draft. I ended up cutting something like 25k words during subsequent drafts, and completely rewrote a couple of sections.
This one is completely separate from the Sad Girl universe as well, and is a stand-alone story. For now. I think. That’s the plan, anyway.
I didn’t start out to write a romance; I originally intended it to be a mystery/suspense like The Sad Girl. But after I was done with the edits and rewrites, I realized it was more romance than anything else.
I’m calling it a Clean Read, too. While there are some less-than savory elements to the story (two deaths, and the main character runs a strip club), I don’t go into detail on-screen. This isn’t something that would ever appear in a Zondervan’s, but I call it Christian fiction as well. Scott is a young Christian, so he filters much of his thinking about Sam through a Christian viewpoint.
So head on over to Amazon and pick it up, read it, and leave a review. Reviews are the second-best thing you can do for an author! In the meantime, if you can figure out who I should yell at for scheduling my travel on both my book release day and the weekend of Michigan’s football opener, let me know. The guy is clueless.
